"World on Fire" is the first piece of new music from Alternative Communication since 1985.

The piece is included in the forthcoming Alternative Communication album, "The Three Body Problem", due for release in 2021.

The song describes a dangerous and unpredictable world: a world of climate change, pandemics and "post-truth". Incredible events unfolded since the 2020 US presidential elections - including escalating Covid-19 deaths across the world - at a time when the sitting US President, Donald Trump, was creating his own "reality". A second US civil war was suddenly a possibility while, in the UK, we abandoned the stabilising influence of the EU and went into our second national lock-down in the face of accelerating Covid deaths.
We really were "hiding on a hill"!

Hiding on the hill, away from everyone,
she's a fugitive, a refugee, a woman on the run.
Gratefully aware of life, she savours every breath,
but precious air has now become the harbinger of death.
